How do you get rid of the musty smell from an old storage chest?

My hubby had this storage chest that he used when he went away to college over 15 years ago. It’s been in the attic, garage, basement for all these years with an old tent in it. (have no idea why the tent was in it) I wanted to use it for blankets. When I opened it smelled musty. It’s cedar lined but that didn’t stop the odor. How can I get rid of the musty smell?

Is it typical to store your car in the same storage space as your belongings?

I’ll need to store my belongings at a self-storage place for several months. I’ve never done this before. Can you rent one large space for your car plus all your things, or is this not safe (in terms of fire hazard)? Is it more typical to rent a separate room/garage (indoors) for your car and a separate room for your belongings?
yes, I agree. Many storage places simply don’t look big enough (from the outside) for vehicles and furniture/boxes to be in the same space. That’s why I wondered maybe you have to rent two rooms or go to a completely different kind of facility for your storing your car. I would preferably like to store my car inside and not outside in parking space.

What are the issues in building a two storey garage (~3.5mx9m long) in my garden and deteched from the house?

(1) The garage is in the UK (England)
(2) Power is available, though water and drainage is not.
(3) Is not intended for living in, but storage
(4) Issues are associated with building and planning issues

What is a good color to paint the inside of a garage?

I have just insulated my attached garage and am having new wall board put up. Then I will have it painted. I thought white would be the color, but wonder if there are better colors and ones to stay away from. I want it to look great for cars. Also, I am using part of the garage for some office work. Otherwise, it is the usual things – car, tools, some storage.

How should I organize the storage in my bedroom?

I live in New York and have a small one bedroom apartment. The old tenants put up a "loft" for storage against one of the walls – right now I have some games, winter clothes, and other miscellaneous items up there. However, it’s starting to make my bedroom look like a garage. Any ideas that are not too expensive to make my bedroom look like a serene bedroom and not like a storage locker? Thanks!

I need to store some merchandise at our backyard so I can access occasionally. It’s too expensive to hire a contractor to build a garage, because I have a baby to take care of so it’s not convenient if they are in a commercial storage place. I used to purcahse a tent and build it but it’s not safe at all. Is there any other way to get my stuffs store safely in my backyard? I really appreciate your advise.
Thank you for all your advises. I really appreciate that. Yes. 1000 S.F. probably too big. 20×20 might be OK. I was thinking about use awning. Like products shown on http://www.sunsetter.com. Will that be easier to set up and tear down when don’t need it.

When I moved here people kept saying washer and dryer should be stored in real storage. The pair I have currently are in my garage. Will they still work over time? How long can they stay before they don’t work again?
